Project Updates

MOUs have been signed with potential purchasers of DP products. Among these is an agreement with Japan’s Shin-Etsu Chemical Company, which will see 100% of the DP’s rare earth outputs being shipped to Japan for processing into high purity individual rare earth oxides before being on-sold to the global market.

11 February 2015

The Planning Assessment Commission (PAC) has recommended that the project can be approved subject to certain conditions.  The PAC has also made a number of recommendations that must be considered by the Department of Planning & Environment (DPE) before the development application is determined. The PAC's full report is available on their website, click here to access the full report.

4 September 2014

The NSW Department pf Planning and Environment released their report and stated “At this stage, the Department is satisfied that the benefits of the project would outweigh its impacts, and that it should be approved subject strict conditions." and referred the Dubbo Zirconia project to Planning Assessment Commission (PAC) for review. 

18 September 2013
The New South Wales Department of Planning and Infrastructure advised that the State Significant Dubbo Project (DP) Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is on Public Exhibition. The EIS will be available for review and comment/submissions on the DP&I site until 18th November 2013.

7 April 2013
Final feasibility results expected early April.

26 March 2013
An Environmental Impact Statement is currently in preparation, and is expected to be lodged with the NSW Government in Q2 2013.
